Alexander is a biogerontologist recognized for his proposal of the 10th hallmark of aging. He is widely regarded as an expert in the aging of the extracellular matrix and has put forth several hypotheses e. g. he thinks that stiffening of the ECM caused by glycation imitates fibrosis and causes cellular senescence. Currently, Alexander serves as Chief Scientific Officer of the Radical Life Extension group and a Director of Research at Elastin Biosciences. Along with his expertise in theoretical geroscience, Alexander is also an accomplished machine learning specialist holding a title of a Staff Data Scientist at a large international company. He has co-authored numerous books on aging and geroprotectors, has developed a highly accurate non-invasive biomarker for aging based on cardiovascular markers and presented his works at various conferences.
