Alessandro Maggi is the founder and chief executive officer of Ecate LLC. The company is focused on
developing a bi-directional, closed-loop spinal cord machine interface that can bridge the gap in
communication between the brain and the body in paralyzed patients. Alessandro has worked for over 10
years in nano and microfabrication including 3 years as a hardware engineering at Apple. Prior to
founding Ecate, Alessandro worked as an engineering consultant for photonics, battery and neurotech
startups. Alessandro holds a PhD in Medical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering from the
California Institute of Technology, advised by Dr. Julia Greer.
